Job description

SUMMARY: Responsible and accountable for ensuring a safe, clean, attractive environment for patients, staff and visitors at all times.
BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards as they appear in Baxter Health Policy Manager.
Required to work with the EVS Coordinator/Supervisor regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices for the Baxter Health Environmental Services Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred, however willing to train individual with initiative and desire to learn.
Certification: None
Other: Ability to understand written and oral instructions and work well with others. Entry level computer skills required.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without an accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time with frequent reaching, squatting, bending, lifting and twisting. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle, feel or grasp objects and reach with hands and arms, extending in any direction. Must be able to push and/or pull cleaning equipment and carts and be able to frequently lift 50 pounds or more with proper body mechanics. Keen sense of hearing and visual acuity required. Must be able to handle quick turnaround times and stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Must be able to tolerate cleaning chemicals, etc.
Work Environment
Specific area assignments of hospital setting and/or Operating Room area and Central Sterile. Conditions may be unpleasant at times, due to odors, soiled areas, and body fluids and excretions.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Staff work schedule, 5 days a week, 8 or 12-hour shifts. Must be flexible with work hours and schedule changes to meet department need.
