About the role:
As a budtender, you are the face of Nectar! You are responsible for ensuring each customer leaves our stores with the right products they need and a desire to come back and visit us. Our budtenders are the key to ensuring our customers have a positive experience in our stores, whether they are new customers or one of our existing long-term regulars.
Budtender Responsibilities:
  • Enhancing the customer experience by providing educated product recommendations.
  • Embracing the Nectar culture by promoting our deals, rewards program, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintaining a tidy, safe, and inviting store environment for team members and customers. 
  • Ensure the sales floor is properly stocked and that the store is well-maintained.
  • Promoting a positive work environment that is customer service-oriented, and compliant with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and continuously expand on knowledge of our products, brands and vendors.
  • Accurately utilize the Point of Sale (Dutchie POS) in person and for online/phone orders.
  • Detailed and accurate cash handling and proper application of various discounts.
  • Strong understanding of our deals and promotions to effectively explain them to customers.
  • Maintains accuracy and confidentiality when inputting Recreational and Medical customer information into our system to conduct sales.
  • Verifying customers' Identification and/or Medical cards before each sale to ensure compliance.
  • Other miscellaneous store duties vary depending on the location and store needs at any given moment, as assigned by the Management Team.
 
Compensation:
  • This role starts at $18.00 an hour plus nightly cash tips.
  • Promotion opportunities for key holder roles early on.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years old. 
  • Lift up to 40 pounds and stand for the entirety of a full shift.
  • Must have a reliable method of transportation to get to work.
  • Must have open availability and willing to work weekends and holidays. 
  • Must be willing to complete Live Scan Fingerprint Background Check. 
  • Exceptional Customer Service skills in a retail setting.
  • Desire to learn about our various products and cannabis knowledge. 
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, point-of-sale software, and cash handling. 
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and compliance-oriented. 
  • Fun, outgoing attitude and a team-player mentality.
