Job description

RVE, an Ardurra Company, is seeking a Entry-Level Civil Engineer in Allentown, PA Office
Projects may include site development, grading and drainage design, stormwater management, utility design, erosion and sediment control, roadway and parking layout, and related civil site improvements. The candidate will gain hands-on experience supporting the design, analysis, permitting, and development of civil site projects while working alongside experienced engineers and project teams.
Primary Function:The Civil Engineer is an entry-level professional with 0-2 years of experience. This individual will provide engineering services on all phases of an assigned project under the supervision of the Regional Manager, or Project Manager
Primary Duties:
  • Prepare site layouts, grading and drainage plans, utility plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and stormwater management designs
  • Perform site grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility calculations in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct technical analyses, engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates
  • Prepare and coordinate site development permit applications and assist with agency reviews and approvals
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, landscape architects, surveyors, contractors, and other engineers to meet project objectives and deadlines
  • Review survey information, existing conditions, construction plans, and specifications for accuracy and coordination
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and participating in field inspections
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable zoning requirements, design standards, codes, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Assist with research and preparation of project specifications, technical reports, and other project documentation

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certification preferred, not required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of computer aided design software, AutoCAD, and Excel
  • Ability to work in groups as well as individually
  • Ability to interpret survey data, site plans, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
