Position Overview

We are currently looking for a CAD Technician to support our Survey team in Bowmanville for the completion of the SMR-X Project

Location

This role will be based at the Darlington Nuclear Facility 

Responsibilities

    Build 2D and 3D models from a variety of information sources 
    Assist in preparation of construction work plans, project planning and scheduling 
    Review drawings and make changes based on field input from segment Project Managers and Project Engineer
    Optimize grading/ earthworks quantities 
    Perform concrete formwork and lift drawings
    Perform detailed quantity takeoffs in 3D from the models for estimating purposes and / or to support progress claims during construction
    Work within a team to model alternate scenarios and / or develop step by step construction plans and presentation materials
    Prepare Survey and Machine Control files for construction 
    Train other colleagues and field personnel on new technology and mobile applications and estimating work 
    Train and mentor younger engineers in estimating work
    Perform other related duties as assigned or requested 

Qualifications

    A Geomatics, Survey or Engineering degree with experience in the construction industry 
    Experienced in CAD programs such as Civil 3D, Microstation Inroads or Trimble Business Center
    Avid user of Excel and ideally experienced in P6 Scheduling, Primavera and BlueBeam
    Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
    Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
    Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
    Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
    Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
    Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
    Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail

Base Compensation: $73,000/yr - $76,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
