Laboratory Technician III, Antibody Production & Characterization

Boston, Massachusetts

Position Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented entry level technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a hands-on part in supporting our daily antibody production and characterization workflows using automation. This is a great entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate of a biotechnology certificate program to gain experience in a cutting-edge, automated laboratory environment. You will work closely with senior scientists and learn how to operate advanced robotic equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Antibody characterization: Execute on antibody developability assays such as thermostability, ELISA, liquid chromatography, etc. to support delivery of customer projects
  • Sample and Reagent Tracking: Keep careful, accurate records of samples, reagents, and data using our digital tracking systems.
  • Assist with Automation: Help set up, run, and clean automated liquid handling systems and robotic workstations under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Routine Assays: Perform basic biotechnology workflows (such as pipetting, liquid transfers, and basic sample preparation) following strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate clearly with team members about the status of daily tasks and any equipment needs.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a completion of a 1-year biotechnology certificate or training program (such as the Gloucester Maritime/Marine Genomics Academy or equivalent).
  • Hands-on familiarity with basic lab skills, including micropipetting, sterile technique, and basic calculations (e.g., making solutions).
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following written protocols exactly.
  • Comfort using basic computer software (such as Excel or digital lab notebooks) to record data.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and a strong desire to learn new laboratory skills.

The base salary range for this role is $52,400 min - $74,700. Actual pay within this range will depend on a candidate's skills, expertise, and experience. We also offer company stock awards, a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental & vision coverage, health spending accounts, voluntary benefits, leave of absence policies, 401(k) program with employer contribution, 8 paid holidays in addition to a full-week winter shutdown and unlimited Paid Time Off policy.
