UNDERSTANDING

The Plant Sanitation Technician is essential to the manufacturing process. Through training and development, they operate, clean, and maintain automated production machinery and are responsible for the overall cleanliness of production areas.

SCOPE

The Plant Sanitation Technician supports production teams by creating and maintaining a sanitary GMP manufacturing environment. This team member works with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to ensure food safety and sanitation practices are at the highest standards plantwide. Plant Sanitation Technicians are responsible for cleaning and maintaining a sanitary environment throughout the plant to comply with company and regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the manufacturing environment.
  • Comply with all company Quality, HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety standards.
  • Maintain strict compliance in PPE use when handling
  • Understand the use and proper titrations of approved chemicals for the sanitation process and distribution plantwide.
  • Sanitize equipment and utensils using water pressure hose and chemicals.
  • Perform and document Sanitation duties as outlined by Master Sanitation checklists.
  • Interact with Sanitation Supervisors and Leads to prioritize specific projects and evaluate the progress of work.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality Control, and Maintenance departments on cleaning procedures and projects.
  • Operate Power Scrubbers and PIT equipment (Pallet Jack, Fork Truck, Scissor Lifts, etc.)
  • Assist with recycling disposal program and general waste management.
  • Safely operate tray washing machine.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The success of this position relies highly on a close working relationship with Quality Control, Maintenance, and Production Staff.
