Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Generator Technician to join our field service team. This position is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in power generation. You will work under the direction of the Service Manager, assisting experienced technicians with the maintenance and repair of generator sets and electrical equipment. Comprehensive training will be provided to help you develop your technical skillset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support & Maintenance: Assist with routine preventative maintenance (oil and filter changes) and support lead technicians during engine repairs.
  • Logistics: Deliver parts and load bank trailers to field technicians as needed.
  • Technical Learning: Observe and participate in the maintenance of Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), AC/DC circuit troubleshooting, and engine component identification (ignition and fuel systems).
  • Testing: Participate in load bank testing under direct supervision to ensure generator compliance with operating standards.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside senior staff on larger projects to gain hands-on experience and provide basic assistance as directed.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Education: HS Diploma required; Associate degree in an Electrical/Mechanical field preferred.
  • Experience: Military background (e.g., US Air Force Electrical Power Production, US Navy Electrician's Mate) or prior field service experience is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong communication and computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Adobe/PDFs).
  • Travel/Logistics: Excellent driving record and valid license required. This role involves significant travel to job sites, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Work Environment: Comfortable working from home and managing inventory, vehicle maintenance, and company-issued equipment.
Physical Requirements
