Entry Level Computer Science Jobs in Youngstown, OH

Fresh Mark is currently seeking candidates to fill an entry-level Microbiology Lab Technician position. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting general microbiological lab work and routine microbiological testing for food and environmental samples proficiently. The candidate also will need to understand and apply the appropriate techniques and methodologies to obtain valid, accurate test results. 

Location: Salem, Ohio (100% on-site)

Key Accountabilities

• Prepare samples for analysis by receiving, recording, weighing, and mixing
• Documenting and maintaining routine quality control and statistical process control data
• Conducting routine quality control work on microbiological growth media and reagents
• Equipment verification, calibration and general lab work (such as dishes, lab cleaning/sanitation, housekeeping etc.)
• Following Good Lab Practices (GLPs) and adhering to all safety policies.

Job Requirements

• Associates degree or equivalent work experience in a Quality Assurance role. Experience in the food industry a plus.
• Availability to work 6 days/week and 40-50 hrs/week.
• Basic knowledge of the biological sciences and strong analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point etc.).
• Strong time-management and planning skills, the ability to prioritize and demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
• Must demonstrate strong communication skills, be a team player, be motivated and have a willingness to learn new skills and methods, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic working environment.
• High comfort level with working independently and proficiently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work while standing for extended periods of time and the physical dexterity to work with large sample volumes.
