ATI Richland Operations is seeking a Materials Processing Operator to join our team. This is a rotational shift working 12-hour days from 6 am - 6 pm. Must be willing to work occasional weekends, holidays and overtime. Although this is an entry level position, there is much opportunity for growth and advancement.

As a Materials Processing Technician you are instrumental in driving efficiencies and increased effectiveness in meeting production goals and objectives to continue our growth and meet customer expectations. This position requires a candidate that is safety conscious, quality oriented and ability to perform well in a team environment.

Employees in this position are responsible for processing and blending raw and scrap material to prepare for melting into specific product blends. To process material, employees must operate industrial machinery and equipment, industrial mobile equipment, and various hand tools. Attention to detail and ability to stay organized are necessary to ensure accuracy.

In order to become successful as a Materials Processing Technician, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy hands on work, be able to follow instructions without deviation and have an eye for detail. Exceptional communication skills and a safety mind set will be crucial in this role. Being an outstanding team player is critical as you will work closely with the Quality and Operations departments, in addition to working cross functionally in the facility.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Forklift Operation
  • Operation of industrial and production equipment and machinery
  • Inventory control and storage of bulk material
  • Utilization of computer based systems for daily operation
  • Continuously aware and actively participating in Safety Programs and Initiatives
  • Hands on involvement with Continuous Improvement activities


Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • At least 1 year of experience in an industrial, production or manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Employees in this position must have intermediate math and computer skills
  • Forklift certification
  • Previous experience in the manufacturing/metals industry
  • Previous machine operation experience
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Previous experience operating Industrial Mobile Equipment (IME)
