Pay: $19.73 per hour$41,038.00 annually
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm

Provides hardware and software technical support to all tag office staff. Ensures a timely resolution and a positive support experience by identifying, prioritizing, and communicating issue resolution. Performs follow-up assessment of previously resolved issues. Answers questions, provides training, and resolves specific problems. Liaise with the outside County software vendors.
Desktop Support, Customer Support
  • Build and configure desktop and laptop systems according to county standards and user requirements. Install and set up desktops, printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices between offices and off-site locations.
  • Provide in-person, telephone, or remote technical support for hardware and software issues.
  • Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone calls and emails.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues that County IT (helpdesk) staff cannot resolve.
  • Create and maintain user IDs and passwords
  • Create and maintain user folders in network drives.
  • Provide training and program support for software.
  • Train users on passwords and basic county computer structure and on network folders.

Data Support
  • Address research, error correction, and maintenance issues.
  • Research and correct taxing unit anomalies prior to tax distributions.
  • Assist with Lien Holder master maintenance and error correction.
  • Update lien holder records with pertinent change information.
  • Match lien holder information error with current records and create new records if required.
  • Maintain and research records to create yearly billing for antique vehicles

Department support
  • Add and update bookkeeping spreadsheets to reflect user acquisition and removal.
  • Create and maintain miscellaneous pamphlets and signs.
  • Act as a liaison with county web services for updates to information on Tag office intra/internet site.
  • Maintain inventory of county owned equipment.

Minimum Qualifications as defined by classification: High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience in IT Network, IT Security, or a related field. Up to two years of experience may be substituted with education that provides applicable knowledge and skills. Per Sedgwick County Policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver's license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance.
Preferred Qualifications: Two or more years' experience supporting web/SharePoint/tax systems applications. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. COMP TIA A+.
