Job description

Bennett Aerospace Inc, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, has an opening for a Research Scientist - Complex Systems & Network Modeling in Vicksburg, MS.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Support ERDC's technical evaluation of project development for supply chain visibility and stress-testing tools on an agile development cycle across multiple customers
  • Conduct foundational and applied research on the behavior of complex systems under stress through network models.
  • Collaborate closely with backend engineering teams within an agile development framework, providing continuous evaluation and subject matter expertise
  • Conduct foundational and applied research on the behavior of complex systems under stress through network models.
  • Analyze and model cascading failures across interdependent critical infrastructure networks (e.g., power, water, communications).
  • Translate abstract government challenges into tractable, well-defined research problems.
  • Present generalized research findings for broad audiences in civil and military work.

Position Requirements:
  • Must possess a PhD in one of the following fields: Engineering, Network Science, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar fields. Experienced researcher with MS will also be considered.
  • Demonstrable research experience in understanding and modeling the impact of external stimuli on complex networks.
  • A strong and consistent record of publications in top-tier, peer-reviewed academic journals is highly preferred.
  • Proven, high-level skill in communicating complex scientific concepts, research, and results to both expert and non-expert audiences,
  • Strong proficiency in a programming language (e.g. Python, SQL, Julia) is required. Experience with graph database technologies (e.g., Neo4j, TigerGraph, Amazon Neptune) or big data processing frameworks (e.g. Apache Spark, Scala etc.) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple, often disparate, research projects concurrently across different domains.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, client-focused consulting or advisory environment is a significant plus.
