Key Investment Services

Key Investment Services LLC (KIS) is a FINRA registered broker / dealer, SEC registered investment advisory firm and partners with KeyCorp Insurance Agency USA Inc., a licensed insurance agency. KIS provides investment guidance, planning services, investment and insurance products to Key's mass and mass affluent customer base. We help customers plan for retirement, educate their families, save on taxes, and pass wealth from one generation to the next.

The Key Investment Services Internship is a structured 10.5-week experience designed to provide meaningful exposure to the wealth management industry. Interns will engage in impactful work, receive ongoing feedback and coaching, and participate in dynamic events and discussions that foster professional growth and interest in a long-term career at Key.

Essential Functions

  • Partner with a KIS Private Client Advisor to gain hands-on experience.
  • Participate in client discovery and financial planning activities including data entry and analysis.
  • Observe client meetings and assist with basic administrative tasks.
  • Develop client relationships and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Digitize client files and verify client email information.
  • Manage Salesforce book and assist in planning client events.
  • Engage in Key Corp Enterprise learning labs and networking events.
  • Collaborate on a Capstone Group Project addressing real-world industry topics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
  • Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.

Education

  • Pursuing a four-year or graduate-level degree by May 2029 with focused coursework in finance, accounting, economics, and/or data science. Participation in the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) program and completion of the CFP exam prior to graduation is preferred.

Work Experience

  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork through past work experience and/or extracurricular activities. Outstanding academic achievement with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification is preferred for candidates pursuing a career as a Financial Advisor.

Compensation and Benefits

This position is eligible to earn an hourly rate of $23 per hour. Compensation also includes a $2,000.00 Summer Internship Sign-on Bonus.
