The role of System Test Technician I is to utilize basic skills and on-the-job training to test various lens assemblies and report test results to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of the technician to uphold our testing standards to that which matches Jenoptik's Quality Policy .
Basic Interferometric and MTF testing and documenting lens assemblies.
Transmission testing lens assemblies.
Field mapping and distortion testing of lens assemblies.
Document all necessary test results following Good Documentation Practices.
Understand and follow document control and revision procedures.
Communicate test results and progress to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager or the System Test Supervisor.
Provide direct supervisor feedback and recommendations of any issues that negatively affect testing cycles.
Keep lab clean and organized with emphasis on 5S and LEAN initiatives.
Provide support to the measurement of aspheric surfaces on as needed basis.
Follow all company procedures and policies.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
High School Degree or GED is required.
Able to use Word, Excel, Outlook, and other specialty software used in a lab environment.
Good interpersonal and communications skills.
Able to Read/Write English.
A Standard Vision Test is required (Annually).
Ability to work with all team members in the department and the company.
US Citizenship or Qualified U.S. Worker.
This is an entry level position - training will be supplied on all system testing.
Prior experience in the following areas would be advantageous (not a requirement)
Experience testing optical components, such as lenses, with spherical and aspheric surfaces, and sub-assemblies using Zygo Interferometers.
Experience in optical manufacturing.
Experience with MTF testing of precision optical assemblies.
Experience with autocollimators, microscopes, power meters, spectrophotometers and alignment telescopes.
Computer controlled environment.
