Overview

The Embroidery Machine Operator I is an entrylevel role responsible for running and maintaining industrial embroidery machines to produce high-quality embroidered products with conductive heating wire embroidered to a substrate, according to production schedules. This position works under close supervision and focuses on training, safety, quality, and meeting production schedules.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Setting up and operating embroidery machines with digitized design files.
  • Loading substrates, threads, wires and supplies required for production runs.
  • Monitoring machine performance and thread tension to ensure consistent stitching quality.
  • Performing in-process inspections to identify defects such as damaged wires, skipped stitches, thread breaks, or misalignments.
  • Conducting routine cleaning and maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Following established production schedules and quality standards for embroidery output.
  • Maintaining digitized document organization and production records.
  • Assist in other production areas as directed.
Work Schedule
  • Regular schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Occasional Friday and Saturday work may be required based on business needs, including overtime when applicable.
Required Skills and Competencies

Machine and Equipment Operation

  • Ability to operate machines or equipment under supervision.
  • Capable of learning and running one or more machine within a production value stream.

Manual Dexterity and Tool Use

  • Proper use of basic hand tools to perform routine tasks.
  • Follows safety procedures and 5S protocols consistently.

Computer Literacy

  • Basic computer skills, including entering data and completing steps within an ERP system by following instructions.

  • Meets physical demands of the role, including moving materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work the required schedule and overtime as business needs dictate.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or trade school education preferred but not required.
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience is a plus, but not required for Level I.
