About the Team & Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and high-potential entry-level Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team and help drive meaningful business impact while launching your career in reliability engineering.
This is a really exciting time to be part of the SRE transformation at WEX. Our sophisticated products power a diverse range of customer businesses, and the underlying infrastructure and platforms generate rich, complex telemetry data. As we scale and modernize, ensuring reliability, performance, and efficiency across our systems is more critical than ever.
As an SRE, you'll contribute to building and supporting the foundational reliability engineering practices that help WEX deliver seamless, highly available, and performant services. You'll work on developing tools, automation, and monitoring solutions to reduce operational toil, improve observability, and accelerate root cause analysis and recovery. You'll also help us advance our incident and problem management practices and contribute to making our systems more resilient and scalable.

How you'll make an impact

  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining system reliability and performance.

  • Participate in incident management, triage, and root cause analysis.

  • Develop basic automation scripts to reduce manual operational tasks.

  • Follow established processes for service deployment and change management.

  • Engage in knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team learning.

Experience you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Basic understanding of Linux/Unix administration, networking, and system troubleshooting.

  • Basic knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Preferred Qualification

  • Basic experience in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI).

  • Understanding of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.

  • Awareness of cloud computing concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Good understanding of version control systems (Git).

  • Familiarity with developing AI based solutions.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Basic familiarity with location services, telemetry, or event-driven systems.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
