Job description

Position Summary

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The IT Intern is an entry level position that participates in various digital and IT business related projects while providing excellent customer service through implementation support and help desk inquiries.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.     Monitor and follow all safety preventative measures and practices, including 5S+ safety guidelines.

2.     Develop an understanding of how IT supports our core business.

3.     Assist on key IT projects and initiatives.

4.     Propose solutions for real-world problems using quantitative data.

5.     Assist with implementing information technology that optimizes organizational efficiency.

6.     Collaborate with various teams to achieve enterprise goals.

7.     Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, manage time effectively and actively participate in team projects.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.     Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment.  Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk.  Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.

2.     Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High-Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S. 

3.     Ability to maintain professionalism and foster rapport with internal and external customers.

4.     Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education required:Actively pursuing a technical certificate or degree program in the IT fieldExperience:Relevant work experience preferred but not requiredPreferred Skills/Qualifications:

         Work closely with other departments to resolve issues within the facility.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The employee may be subject to:

          High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.

          Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.

         Exposure to nuisance fumes and dust

1.     Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility clothing)

2.     Standing is required for extended periods of time.  Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis

3.     Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions

4.     Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime
