The Survey CAD Technician supports survey and civil design projects by producing accurate drafting and topographic survey drawings using AutoCAD. This role is ideal for someone new or someone who brings foundational CAD skills, a strong work ethic, and a desire to grow long term with a close-knit drafting and survey team. Responsibilities
- Prepare survey drafting deliverables using AutoCAD, including topographic surveys and land survey drawings.
- Support survey and civil design projects by converting field survey data into accurate CAD models and plans.
- Collaborate closely with the CAD team and survey staff to ensure drawings meet project requirements and standards.
- Apply survey, topography, and land surveying principles to create clear, precise, and well-organized drawings.
- Assist in the use and application of Civil 3D tools for survey-related drafting when needed.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before internal review or delivery.
- Follow established drafting processes and procedures while being open to learning new methods and software features.
- Maintain organized CAD files and documentation to support efficient project workflows.
- Communicate effectively with team members, demonstrating reliability, integrity, and a positive attitude.
- Contribute to a collaborative, long-term team culture by supporting colleagues and participating actively in team discussions.
Essential Skills
- Associate degree in Drafting and Design or a related field, or a CAD certificate.
- Experience using AutoCAD for drafting tasks.
- Fundamental understanding of survey drafting, land surveying, and topographic surveys.
- Ability to interpret survey information and translate it into accurate CAD drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing precise and high-quality work.
- Willingness to learn new drafting processes, standards, and software tools.
- Dependable, trustworthy, and team-oriented mindset with a focus on long-term growth.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a CAD and survey team.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior survey drafting experience is preferred.
- Comfort using AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred and considered a plus.
- Experience working on land survey, survey tech, or civil drafting projects is beneficial.
- Interest in developing deeper expertise in Civil 3D and survey-related CAD workflows.
- Positive attitude, strong character, and a desire to be a long-term member of a close-knit team.

This role is based in an in-office setting, working closely with a CAD team in a collaborative environment. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
