Job Description

AECOM's transportation team in Greenville, SC is seeking an Entry-Level Bridge Engineer to work in the bridge/structures group.

This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

The Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Builds analytic and design skills
  • Conducts engineering design, calculations, sketches, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Creating innovative bridge designs using MicroStation and OpenBridge Designer
  • Develops an awareness of standard practices, techniques, and procedures under supervision.
  • Research alternate solutions and design options in support of the project team, e.g. white paper research, code review.
  • Communicates and collaborates with full design team and others.
  • Supports and assists in the development of work products such as specifications, drawings, and illustrative graphics.
  • Follows specific, detail instructions and set of technical approach for design.
  • Develops details, edit specific and an awareness of QMS procedures.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or in another related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of word processors and spreadsheet tools (Such as Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Experience in CADD/drafting is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Greenville, SC. The selected candidate must be available to work in Greenville, SC on a scheduled basis.
