Job description

Quality Technician

1st Shift – 7:00AM – 3:30PM

  • Supports the Quality Program by performing a combination of related tasks in conformance with quality standards.
  • Responsible for inspection, tests, surveillance and quality operations support
  • Collects data and enters into appropriate reporting tools.

·         Conducts destructive and non-destructive test on welds

  • Provide quality knowledge to supervisors and manufacturing colleagues as needed.

This hourly role is a part of our plant quality team and reports to the quality supervisor.

Required experience:

  • Knowledge of welding and stamping processes, preferred.
  • Able to train and deliver information to various work groups.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to learn various computer programs.
  • Understanding and strong knowledge of quality systems, process control, statistical process control (SPC), control plans, work instructions, and product layout
  • Excellent communication skills as evidenced in colleague relations, team skills, and have the ability to interface directly with the customer to resolve issues.

Working conditions:

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, product, or equipment.
  • The colleague is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms in repairing fixing, welding, or conducting inspection.
  • The colleague must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
