Overview:

The Engineering Technician supports design, development, testing, and manufacturing activities for mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. This entry-level, hands-on role is intended for candidates with a two-year engineering or technical degree and provides direct support to engineering teams through fabrication, testing, data collection, documentation, and production assistance.

The technician works closely with engineers, manufacturing, and quality personnel to help ensure products meet design intent, performance requirements, and quality standards. This role is well-suited for individuals seeking practical experience in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support design engineers with prototype fabrication, assembly, and modification of components and assemblies.
  • Assist with mechanical testing, data collection, and basic analysis; document test results and observations.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain engineering documentation, work instructions, and build records.
  • Operate basic shop equipment and hand tools in support of development and production activities.
  • Assist with setup and execution of experiments, inspections, and proof-of-concept builds.
  • Support production and sustainment activities, including troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain organization of engineering labs, tools, fixtures, and test equipment.


Requirements:
  • Associate degree (2-year) in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, drawings, and assemblies.
