As a Smart Home Technology Designer, you will be responsible for developing new client relationships, generating your own sales opportunities, and designing integrated technology solutions that enhance the way our clients live. You will guide projects from the initial consultation through system design, proposal development, and handoff to our operations team while remaining a trusted advisor throughout the project.
Responsibilities
  • Develop new business through personal networking, referrals, builder and trade relationships, and community involvement
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities while meeting established sales goals
  • Conduct in-home consultations to understand client lifestyles, priorities, and project goals
  • Collaborate with architects, builders, interior designers, and homeowners throughout the design process
  • Review intake information and gather all details necessary to develop complete system designs
  • Design integrated technology systems including audio/video, networking, lighting control, motorized shades, security, surveillance, and outdoor entertainment
  • Utilize iPoint, System Survey, CAD, and related software to develop proposals, system documentation, and presentation materials
  • Assist as needed in lighting layouts, keypad layouts, scene documentation, and supporting design spreadsheets
  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and change orders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Serve as the primary design resource during project execution, working closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Programming, and Installation
  • Communicate programming intent and system functionality to our programming team to ensure the client experience matches the original design
  • Provide remote support to field technicians during installation when design clarification is needed
  • Participate in client walkthroughs, demonstrations, and project closeout as needed
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and manufacturer certifications
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team-first culture focused on delivering exceptional client experiences
Qualifications
  • Experience selling luxury residential technology, custom integration, or related home systems - this is not an entry level position - this is for a seasoned candidate
  • Proven ability to develop business and generate new client opportunities as well 
  • Strong consultative sales and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with CAD, iPoint, System Survey, or similar design platforms is preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Passion for technology, architecture, design, and creating exceptional customer experiences
Compensation
This is a  performance-based sales position with commission-based compensation. Your earning potential is directly tied to your ability to develop new business, build lasting client relationships, and close projects. There is no cap on earnings, allowing high performers to be rewarded for their success.
