PRI represents several high-quality valves and related equipment throughout the US, Canada, and global markets, via a network of independent distributors. PRI has an internal team of sales and engineering personnel that function as a complete sales, service and warranty team for the products it represents. Valve products range from commodity to specialty, with a variety of simple to complex automation logic controls. 


Position Overview

The Shipping & Receiving Associate role is responsible for loading and unloading all outbound and incoming freight, forklift operation, parts pick, verification of customer orders, ERP data entry, packaging and paperwork for all shipments, and potential heavy lifting associated with role. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales to sales associates for processing.
  • Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping orders or to other designated areas using hand truck and/or forklifts.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
  • File requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
  • Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Open bales, crates and other containers.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
  • Assist in counting of physical inventory.
  • Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing.
  • Sweep, dust, mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • Wear proper safety equipment.

Qualifications


Required

  • Minimum of 2+ years in a Shipping and Receiving role
  • Team-oriented, able to collaborate across functions and responsibility levels to help the organization succeed
  • Problem-solving attitude and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, curious and motivated to learn new things
  • Independent, proactive and self-motivated person 

Preferred

  • Forklift Certification a plus
  • Pallet jack certification a plus
  • Odoo experience 
  • Ability to manage responsibilities on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to adapt to quickly evolving requirements
  • Task oriented/process driven/strong attention to detail
