Job description

The IT System Support Specialist provides technical support for hardware, software, and network systems across the organization. This role ensures smooth day-to-day IT operations by troubleshooting issues, maintaining systems, and delivering excellent support to end users.

  • Provide first and second level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and hardware
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights (Active Directory, email systems, etc.)
  • Monitor system performance and respond to alerts or outages
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation of configurations and procedures
  • Support onboarding/offboarding of employees, including equipment setup and account provisioning
  • Assist with data backups, disaster recovery procedures, and security patching
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or vendors as needed
  • Log and track support tickets through a help desk system, ensuring timely resolution
  • Provide basic training and guidance to staff on IT systems and best practices

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1-3 years experience in IT support, help desk, orsystem administration
  • Working knowledge of Windows/Macoperating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP,DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience with Active Directory, VPNs,and remote support tools
  • Strong troubleshooting andproblem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills andcustomer service orientation
  • Ability to prioritize and managemultiple support requests
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+,Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator
