Desktop Support Specialist

Location: Wilkes Barre Township, PA, 18702
Payrate: $24.29/Hr
Work Schedule: Mondays to Fridays - 8AM to 5PM

Job Summary

The Desktop Support Specialist provides onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, software, and other IT hardware. This role focuses on installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and customer support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and troubleshoot computer hardware and software.
  • Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and network devices.
  • Install, maintain, and repair PCs, servers, networks, and peripherals.
  • Perform disk replacements on enterprise storage systems.
  • Support legacy and core server products.
  • Perform hardware and software installations, moves, additions, and changes.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain network products.
  • Reload and re-image PCs and laptops.
  • Install, configure, and optimize hardware, software, and networking products.
  • Test and certify PCs, networks, servers, and approved applications.
  • Troubleshoot issues escalated by the Help Desk or Service Desk.
  • Escalate complex issues when additional support is required.
  • Update incident and service request tickets accurately and on time.
  • Meet client-specific Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the service process.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of desktop support or IT support experience.
  • Basic hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience supporting desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and networking equipment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Good work ethic and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently at customer sites.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of computer hardware and software issues.
