Job description

The IT Software/Computer Specialist is an entry/mid-level position that will work onsite at customer locations or remotely to field, upgrade, and troubleshoot government software/hardware for various customers in the United States and designated overseas locations.
  • Configure and install government software modules onto customer owned devices to support individual customer requirements
  • Test to ensure government software modules function as intended according to configurations
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and report discrepancies identified with government owned software
  • Ability to train the functions of software to customers of varying technical ability
  • Ability to write detailed reports of work performed on a weekly basis

Qualifications
  • Security + required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
  • Up to 3 years of related experience or College Courses

Required Skills
  • Ability to communicate technical computer information to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Must be compliant within 6 months with Department of Defense Directive 8570 (DoDD 8570) Certification IAT Level II
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, FTP, SSH, IP CONFIG) is desired
  • Ability to troubleshoot, research, and resolve issues
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Experience with Satellite Communication (SATCOM) and networking is a plus
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%; with potential for short notice trips and extended length (2 weeks +)
