Job description

Position Overview

AST SpaceMobile is currently seeking a skilled Information Technology (IT) Technician to support end users, maintain enterprise hardware and software systems, and contribute to the reliability and efficiency of IT operations. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, ideal for someone who excels in troubleshooting, customer service, and adapting quickly in a growing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to end users for workstations, servers, and mobile devices (hardware and software).
  • Support and maintain Office 365 applications for users.
  • Prepare, deploy, and ship new hardware to remote sites and end users.
  • Assist with deployment of on-premises hardware including routers, switches, Ethernet cabling, servers, workstations, monitors, and printers.
  • Manage user accounts in on-premises Active Directory and cloud-based identity providers (Azure AD, LastPass).
  • Perform software installations, patches, and upgrades to maintain system security and integrity.
  • Troubleshoot issues to isolate and diagnose common hardware and software problems.
  • Create and maintain accurate systems documentation.
  • Escalate complex issues to subject matter experts when required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred.
  • IT-related certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, VMware) are a plus.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2+ years in desktop support, help desk, or customer support roles.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office in a technical support capacity.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware maintenance including racking servers, deploying workstations, and setting up peripheral devices.
  • General knowledge of networking fundamentals (OSI model, TCP/IP, protocols, routing, firewalls).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Flexibility to participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA, VMware.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware).
  • Familiarity with cloud IaaS platforms (AWS or Azure).
