Job description

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Computer Technician to join our IRS Operations Service Support (OSS) Support Services team. The Computer Technician (Mid-level) will assist in preparing systems for imaging, installing software, performing quality checks, and packaging systems for shipment. They will also assist in receiving incoming shipments and updating asset management and inventory systems. This role requires basic computer support skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage inventory using specialized technology. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player who can handle physical tasks such as packing and shipping equipment.


  • Assist with setting up systems in preparation for imaging.
  • Install above-baseline software and perform quality checks.
  • Package and prepare systems for shipment to IRS depot centers.
  • Work with Service Manager to address various logistic management requests.
  • Receive incoming shipments of equipment and update the asset management database and inventory records.
  • Manage and track inventory using barcode scanners and related technology.
  • Provide deskside and remote support as needed for IRS employees.

  • Active Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • Completed IRS Minimum Background Investigation or ability to clear IRS Minimum Background Investigation.
  • Basic computer support skills to sanitize equipment according to IRS procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Experience with inventory management technology.
  • Knowledge of database applications for asset management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
