Job description

Job Title: IT System Administrator II
Department: Information Technology
Reports to: IT Infrastructure Manager
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for daily operations, maintenance, patching, troubleshooting of the computer systems, applications, storage systems, and cloud integrations that are used to support business needs. This position installs, configures, and maintains applications running on RedHat and Windows servers, AWS, and Azure. The position will be responsible for email administration, setup and security; Azure Federations; Intune; DNS Servers; Event Monitoring/logging; EDR toolsets; web filtering; multi-factor authentication; and other related technologies. The Administrator will assist with Disaster Recovery, certificate rotation, encryption management, and security controls to align with corporate policies.
Essential Functions:
  • Install and configure software applications to support business needs.
  • Maintain and configure Office 365, Intune, and Azure tenant.
  • Responsible for ADFS and Azure Federations.
  • Assist with vulnerability management for RedHat, Windows, and software applications.
  • Configure Multi Factor Authentication for supported systems and applications.
  • Assist with SAN configuration, partitioning and backup.
  • Primary responsibility for email configuration, DKIM, SPF, and other related security settings.
  • Responsible for public DNS configuration, maintenance, and security.
  • Assist with procedures, program documentation for backup and restoration of host-based operating systems and applications.
  • Maintain, and configure SSL certificates for servers, devices, and APIs.
  • Configure Cisco Umbrella to filter malicious websites and domains.
  • Extensive experience installing, configuring, and setting up complex server installations and troubleshooting server problems.
  • Maintain, monitor, and configure software toolsets to verify server uptime, network performance, and potential issues.
  • Expert knowledge of hardware and operating systems including system architectures, network infrastructure and client/server principles.
  • Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways to take advantage of new technology.
  • Assist and work to maintain Data Classification, and Data Loss Prevention tools.
  • Assists with overall welfare of the computer system environment.
  • Provide end-user support on an as-needed basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Job Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
Experience:
Seven or more years of directly related experience.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong Office 365 skills, administering, configuring and troubleshooting Email, InTune and Azure AD tools.
  • Must be able to administer Active Directory OU's, GPO's, user accounts, directory replication, and system restores.
  • Ability to configure and manage DNS servers, mail servers, and email security.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Work as a team to accomplish larger goals and improve technical knowledge.
  • Work with third party vendors for support and technical issues.

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • RedHat Linux Enterprise.
  • Windows Active Directory and Servers (2016 and above)
  • VMWare Server Virtualization.
  • SQL Server administration.
  • SAN administration.
  • Experience with enterprise backup systems.
  • Microsoft Azure and Cloud experience.
  • Microsoft Certifications are preferred.
