SITECH Pacific - Construction Technology Field Technician - Santa Maria 

SITECH Pacific is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Technician to install, support, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced technology solutions for the heavy construction and earthmoving industry. This position plays a critical role in supporting customers by ensuring technology systems operate efficiently through installation, preventative maintenance, repairs, and technical support.

The SITECH Technician provides customer support for Trimble Machine Control Technology and related construction technology solutions while building strong customer relationships through professionalism, technical expertise, and exceptional service. This role works closely with customers, field teams, and internal partners to deliver reliable technology solutions that improve productivity and job site performance.

 

Starting wage will depend on experience and education. $36.00-$38.00


  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Trimble Machine Control Technology and related construction technology systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on technology equipment and ensure systems are maintained according to customer agreements and service requirements.
  • Provide onsite customer support, technical assistance, and repairs for digital and analog electronic components, electrical systems, wiring, and related mechanical systems.
  • Lead technology system installations, including equipment setup, testing, calibration, and customer training.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic electrical, mechanical, and technology-related issues in the field.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, including multimeters, to test voltage, current, continuity, and electrical components.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and apply basic circuit theory to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers by providing dependable service and proactive solutions to meet their technology needs.
  • Communicate effectively with customer management and field personnel to ensure successful implementation and support of technology solutions.
  • Promote SITECH Pacific and Trimble as industry leaders through professionalism, technical expertise, and exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain open communication with managers, team members, and customers regarding project status, repairs, and support needs.
  • Work collaboratively with sales, engineering, and service teams to support customer success.
  • Work independently with limited supervision while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines.
  • Follow all company and customer safety policies, procedures, and standards while making safety the highest priority.
  • Travel to customer job sites and work occasional weekends as business needs require.

  • Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office, internet-based programs, and hardware knowledge.
  • Basic electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and understand basic circuit theory.
  • Ability to use hand tools, electrical tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with customers and team members.
  • Dependable attendance and commitment to safety.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with heavy construction equipment, hydraulics, machine control, or GPS technology preferred.
  • Experience with Trimble or similar construction technology solutions preferred.
  • Ability to obtain MSHA certification.
  • Must complete site-specific training and pit driving requirements.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
Physical & Work Environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, and work in active construction environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Work may include exposure to electrical hazards, moving equipment, outdoor weather conditions, and elevated work areas.
  • Must use required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection.
