Job description

Configuration Technician
Pay: $19–$20/hour
 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
 Location: Plano
 Work Setting: On-site
 Level: Entry-level
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install operating systems and software packages on a variety of computer systems.
  • Perform software imaging for new and repurposed desktops and laptops.
  • Deploy system images using various imaging tools and packages to ensure optimal performance.
  • Install and integrate hardware components into laptop, desktop, and server systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with laptops and desktops that are non-operational upon receipt.
  • Assess and diagnose returned computers and peripheral equipment.
  • Complete post-imaging tasks, including system renaming and domain joining.
  • Follow established imaging procedures carefully to ensure consistent and accurate results.
  • Generate and securely apply asset tags to hardware for effective asset management.
  • Unpack and organize materials needed to begin the configuration process.
  • Inspect received materials, verify part numbers, and promptly address discrepancies.
  • Perform daily quality-control checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shared work environment.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with computer operating systems.
  • Ability to document and automate software installations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent work ethic and dependability.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer hardware repair certification is a plus.
  • A+ and Network+ certifications are advantageous.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to remain on your feet and work throughout the entire shift.
