Cyber Forensic Investigator

About your role:

The Cyber Forensics Investigator is responsible for contributing to cyber investigations, analyses, and incident response activities.

A successful candidate will have experience operating as a senior investigator across complex and ambiguous security matters, working independently and collaboratively with cyber incident responders, detection engineers, threat hunters, legal, intelligence teams, and enterprise stakeholders.

What you'll do:

  • Apply advanced forensic, analytical, and adversary-focused investigative techniques in support of legal and incident response functions.
  • Collect digital evidence from computers, cloud platforms, mobile devices, application logs, and network artifacts while adhering to sound forensic principles.
  • Document investigations, findings, and actions taken in the case management system, driving action and lessons learned activities.
  • Translate investigative findings into detection opportunities, hunt hypotheses, response improvements, and actionable intelligence that can be operationalized.
  • Communicate verbal and written updates to stakeholders during and after investigations to ensure findings, impact, and concerns are addressed.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to develop forensic processes for new technologies and to automate workflows that improve efficiency and scalability.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related.
  • Five+ years of hands-on experience in cyber investigations, incident response, threat hunting, computer forensics, cybercrime investigations, or related technical fields.
  • Experience with cybersecurity and forensic applications such as Cellebrite, Axiom, Wiz, and CrowdStrike.
  • Ability to perform forensic analysis and investigations across cloud infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulation affecting digital forensics, including GDPR, HIPAA.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Able to obtain United States federal security clearance within first six months of employment.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in advanced investigative roles spanning incident response, threat hunting, and digital forensics.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and interpret the implications of various forms of digital evidence.
  • Industry standard digital forensics certifications (GCFA, GNFA, GCFE, CFCE) or cybersecurity related certifications (GCIH, GREM).

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday.

  • Less than 5%

Salary Range

$128,000.00 - $216,000.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
