Overview of the Position:

This is an entry level engineering position designed for those needing to gain experience to transition to Engineer I. Under the direction of the Senior Director, Engineering and Engineering Supervisor, create component repair documentation, suitable for FAA and/or airline approval. Create manufacturing data needed to fabricate components. Support the repair station technicians by providing technical assistance, test and assembly fixture creation and detailed procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage independent projects, analyze technical data, and draft designs.
  • Working closely with experienced staff, create, revise, and review designs using Solidworks 3D CAD Software platform.
  • Working closely with experienced staff, create PMA (Parts Manufacturing Authority) and Repair Process Supporting Documentation Packages for submittal to the FAA and/or customers.
  • Research, collect data, and work with design teams to evaluate, select, adapt, and modify techniques, procedures and criteria to solve problems.
  • Assist in supplier selection to manufacture fabricated or PMA parts and obtain quotes.
  • Support the goals of the repair station and the company's core values.
  • Support an engineering team environment by sharing knowledge, participating in collaboration, communicating clearly and showing respect to other team members.
  • Support scheduled project deadlines and keep tasks organized.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area
  • Other duties that may be assigned.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Completed or near college graduation with degree or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Must be comfortable working alone or in a team environment.
  • Must understand the importance of quality of work and maintain a high level of excellence and integrity when completing projects.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Ability to learn and understand regulatory requirements for airworthiness in accordance with FAA and various foreign authorities.
  • Experience in quality control and new product development within the aviation industry.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, soldering and safety equipment.
