Job description

MDP Engineering Group is looking to hire an entry-level Electrical Engineer for commercial MEP design projects, including office, retail, restaurant, hospitality, and multi-family residential.

The position requires strong technical, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Specific job duties will include:
  • Commercial power-distribution system one-line diagrams, fault-current calculations, protective device series rating and selective coordination, lighting controls, photometric calculations, and lighting/power circuiting design.
  • Participation in the planning, development, and preparation of construction documents.
  • Conduct field surveys, engineering calculations, and assessments of existing building electrical systems.
  • Interface with clients on a regular basis.
Qualified candidate will possess the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
  • Knowledge of building, energy, and electrical codes.
  • Experience with LEED Certified projects.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Visual and some REVIT experience.
  • Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload and projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
