Position Summary:


You will support electrical facilities and services across our US sites. You will work with site teams, service partners, and project teams to keep critical systems safe, compliant, and reliable. This role offers hands-on engineering, project exposure, and opportunities to influence improvements that keep operations running and support our mission of uniting science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together.
Responsibilities:


This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Provide technical support for electrical systems, including power distribution, generators, motor control, and emergency systems.

  • Lead assessments, investigations, and corrective actions for electrical incidents and audit findings.

  • Support capital and maintenance projects by reviewing designs, performing technical risk assessments, and advising on constructability and handover to operations.

  • Drive site compliance to electrical codes, engineering standards, and safety requirements.

  • Work with service partners and contractors to plan and verify work quality, schedules, and performance against contracts.

  • Maintain asset and documentation records and support the transition of projects into operations with clear procedures and training.

  • Identify and implement improvements, design changes, or modification to automation/mechanical systems, equipment of procedures to support the business in the following established change control processes.

  • Conduct site management monitoring tasks and site GEMBAs to ensure service partner and 3rd party contractor works are being carried out in compliance with national, local, and GSK standards.

  • Manage improvement programs generated by various sources: Audit findings, CAPA, Engineering/EHS alerts, preventable disruptions, sustainability objectives.

  • Execute site assessments against Engineering Policies and Standards in support of real estate due diligence at the site.

  • Manage risk mitigation plans/actions in the risk management systems to ensure gaps from engineering assessments or with service delivery at sites are brought to acceptable levels (as low as reasonably practical).

  • Lead investigations and mitigation plans at the site for significant service failures, critical/major audit findings, dispute resolution, and process improvements.

  • Champion implementation of engineering standards and process improvement initiatives from RDES service towers into site delivery teams. Identify and implement areas for EHS risk reduction and environmental sustainability.

  • Ensure compliance with Quality and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and ensure that the Engineering activity is a safe place to work and 'inspection ready' at all times.

Basic Qualifications:


We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience supporting electrical facilities in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of electrical codes and safety practices relevant to industrial facilities.

  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance practices for electrical equipment.

  • Proven ability to work with contractors and cross-functional teams to deliver safe outcomes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications:


If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Experience in a regulated industry or facilities that require strict audit readiness.

  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work orders and asset records.

  • Experience with fire protection power systems, emergency power, or hazardous area electrical systems.

  • Exposure to project engineering for capital improvements and equipment upgrades.

  • Knowledge of industrial utility systems and building automation interfaces. Relevant professional certifications or ongoing technical training in electrical safety or project management.

  • Experience in a regulated industry or facilities that require strict audit readiness.

Work arrangement:


This role is primarily on-site but is eligible to work remote one day a week. This may require some travel between regional sites may be required.
