1st shift (United States of America)Please review the following job description:The Software Engineer will deliver highly complex solutions with significant system linkages, dependencies, associated risk. Lead and perform development efforts such as analysis, design, coding/creating, and testing.
This teammate brings expertise in ServiceNow products, services, development, bugs, fix defects, perform code reviews to ensure that the quality bar is being met regarding coding standards, integration, extensibility, and security. Specialty in ServiceNow's ITSM and Mobile products.
In this role you will build high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.). Work with the product owners to understand detailed requirements. Help design and implement new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite used by multiple business lines.
Day-to-day will involve review, development, testing, defect remediation and implementation of application specific development requests. You will partner with platform architecture, product owners, and business partners for technical designs and technical implementation to ensure use cases are met in the most effective manner for the underlying ServiceNow platform. Provide request review and feedback to product owners including estimated work effort, dependencies and sustainability during prioritization meetings aligning to Truist's mission and goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Participate in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of Truist's most complex solutions.

2. Development includes but is not limited to customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, or use tools pertinent to the area, project, or system to configure or generate a solution.

3. Ensure adherence to company and industry standards. Provides technical consultation on extremely challenging or unusual situations.

4. Write and run unit tests.

5. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.

6. Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.

7. Complete technical peer review of teammates development efforts, ensuring work is compliant and meets all QA and best practices.

8. Does not have management responsibilities. This position serves as the technical expert on the team and is often the strongest engineer, answering and solving the most complex, unusual issues, but does not have the skills nor the interest in management. Therefore,in the technical industry and many companies, this position is often aligned at the same level as an entry level manager. This creates a career path for an individual contributor to remain as an individual contributor and does not have to seek a management role for promotion/pay.

9. In an Agile environment: Act as an Agile champion. Responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks working directly, and consulting with, the business from the beginning of the design work. Leverage continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding effectiveness of the design. Actively participate in refining user stories. Responsible for development and developing unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing. Responsible for providing warranty support and providing knowledge transfer to production support. Develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications

1.Bachelor's Degree and six to ten years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience

2.In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices

5.Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications

1.Master's degree and ten+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

2.Knowledge of ServiceNow supporting specific applications, technology platforms, programming languages, systems, or business segments
3.Banking or financial services experience. Knowledge of one or more of the following: Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills
4.Professional experience building high-quality apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level
5.Experience with Open Source tools and frameworks
6.Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
7.Strong understanding of SOA and/or Open API methodologies and service architectures
8.Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies
9.Solid knowledge of relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling)
10.Experience with messaging systems (i.e., MQ and JMS)
11.Experience with build tools, such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins. Proven ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests
