Intern - Quality

Are you looking for an opportunity to intern at a great organization this summer? Kamatics Corporation in Bloomfield, CT is seeking several interns in a variety of disciplines to join their team to experience an environment enriched with collaboration and learning. The internship will include a robust onboarding program, provide opportunities for professional growth with challenging assignments, an opportunity to give back to the community with a volunteer day, and will encourage interns to participate in a collaborative project with heir intern peers. Individuals that will be an ideal fit for Kamatics are motivated, dependable, and seeking to work in a fast-paced environment.

The Summer 2026 internship program will begin on June 1st and run approximately 10 to 12 weeks, with anticipated end dates of August 14th or August 28th depending on availability. Interns will be expected to work approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; work hours may be flexible.

As a Quality Intern, you will support the Quality team and gain hands-on experience in manufacturing quality systems and processes, including:

  • Assist with implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) at point of use and support data analysis to evaluate process capability
  • Support efforts to reduce product variation and prevent non-conformances through measurement plans, gaging methods, and statistical analysis
  • Help identify and improve inspection strategies to increase efficiency and throughput
  • Participate in root cause investigations (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, DOE) for internal and external non-conformances
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Team Leaders, and Value Stream Managers to implement corrective actions
  • Gain exposure to advanced inspection equipment, including CMM machines and programs
  • Apply knowledge of machining processes (CNC, grinding, multi-axis machining, etc.) to support quality improvements
  • Assist with drafting and updating ISO procedures and documentation
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects
  • Communicate effectively across teams and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment
Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field

Experience:

  • Prior internship or co-op experience is a plus
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing or quality concepts preferred

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to walk, stand, and use stairs as needed
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, etc.)
  • Ability to work around machinery, chemicals, and varying temperatures
