Job description

Shape precision parts. Build missionโ€‘critical equipment.

Join Ingersoll Rand as a Precision CNC Machining Technician and help craft components that power blowers, pumps, boosters, and other rotating equipment used across transportation, manufacturing, wastewater treatment, and more.

A day in this role

Youโ€™ll start on 1st shift (Mondayโ€“Friday, 7:00 AMโ€“3:30 PM) at our onsite, fully siteโ€‘based facility. Expect overtime and some weekends during demand spikes. Your day blends setup, machining, assembly, and problemโ€‘solving with a focus on quality and safety.

What youโ€™ll do
  • Set up and run lathes, mills, and related CNC equipment; choose and secure tools, fixtures, and materials to meet spec.
  • Use shop math and precision measurement (micrometers, calipers) to calculate dimensions and confirm tolerances.
  • Develop and improve Standard Work sheets so machining and assembly stay consistent and inโ€‘tolerance.
  • Apply the 5 Why Process to get to root causes; partner with engineering and supervisors for technical guidance.
  • Assemble, align, and rebuild units per Standard Work and engineering documents; verify clearances, lubrication, and cooling.
  • Maintain equipment performance: read Bills of Material, rework damaged parts when feasible, clean and lubricate machines.
What youโ€™ll bring
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred experience
  • 2+ years in assembly and/or CNC machining.
  • Blueprint fluency, including GD&T.
  • Able to calculate and enter offsets using basic math.
  • Physical ability to regularly walk and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Core capabilities
  • Mechanical aptitudeโ€”machines, tools, use, and upkeep.
  • Production & processingโ€”materials, workflows, quality, and cost awareness.
  • Mathematicsโ€”arithmetic and algebra for setups and checks.
  • Operation monitoringโ€”watching gauges/dials to ensure proper function.
  • Quality control analysisโ€”testing/inspecting parts and processes.
  • Operation & controlโ€”confident equipment/system operation.
  • Troubleshootingโ€”identify issues and determine corrective actions.
  • Equipment maintenanceโ€”perform routine service.
Schedule, pay, and extras
  • Shift: 1st Shift, Mondayโ€“Friday, 7:00 AMโ€“3:30 PM (overtime and some weekends).
  • Pay: Up to $20.68/hr with a guaranteed increase after 3 months.
  • Attendance: Perfect attendance bonus up to 2 additional days off and $1000.00.
Work arrangement
  • Onsite; fully site based.
