Job Title: CNC Mill OperatorJob DescriptionThe CNC Mill Operator sets up, programs, and runs CNC mill machines to produce precision piston rings. This role creates and interprets CAD drawings to develop CNC programs, ensures parts meet quality and technical specifications, and performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
Responsibilities- Set up CNC mill machines for production runs, including tooling, fixturing, and machine calibration.
- Program CNC mills using CAD drawings and technical specifications to produce piston rings and other machined components.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documentation to ensure accurate machining.
- Operate CNC mills to produce parts to required tolerances, dimensions, and surface finish standards.
- Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with technical drawings and specifications.
- Monitor machine performance during production and make adjustments to programs or settings as needed.
- Perform routine machine maintenance to keep equipment in optimal working condition.
- Troubleshoot machine and process issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the machine shop.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality targets.
Essential Skills- At least 2 years of experience as a CNC operator, including setup, operation, and programming of CNC mills.
- Proficiency in operating CNC mill machines in a production environment.
- Ability to create and interpret CAD drawings to develop accurate CNC programs.
- Strong blueprint reading skills and ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Hands-on experience performing machine setup, including tooling and fixturing.
- Ability to inspect machined parts using appropriate measuring tools to verify quality and accuracy.
- Experience performing routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, precision components.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures and safety guidelines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience machining piston rings or similar precision components is a plus.
- Familiarity with client-controlled or structured machine shop environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving machining issues.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and reporting issues.
- Ability to adapt to different shifts and work overtime when needed.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a client-controlled machine shop with CNC mill equipment and related tooling. Work is performed on-site in a production environment that emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to technical standards. Shifts are Monday through Friday, with a first shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and a second shift from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Overtime is available, typically ranging from 10 to 15 hours, providing additional earning potential and production exposure.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
