Description

Job Summary: A probationary Machine Operator is trained to set-up and run CNC and manual machines per established standards, methods, and programs to meet customer expectations, quality standards and on time delivery requirements.

Starting wage: $20 per hour. After the 90 Day review and successful completion of training there will be a $1.00 pay increase.


Functions

  • Set-up machine to run production order using defined tools and fixtures, verification of program, and documentation review (drawings, job packet, router, etc.)
  • Run machine to complete production order within the required standard times
  • Measure and inspect completed parts to customer requirements and department standards
  • Prepare finished product for next production operation or shipment as needed including washing, wrapping, packaging, etc.
  • Comply with all health and safety requirements based on each operation
  • Complete all required production paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. This includes using a scanner and computer to log time and completed parts
  • Participate in and support improvement projects within production environment
  • Assist in other cells as required, i.e., assembly, surface treatment, etc.
  • Maintain tooling area in appropriate manner
  • Maintain a clean working area

  • Ability to complete assigned functions in a time sensitive/variable environment (low volume/high variability)
  • Ability to interact with others both verbally and in writing to meet the position objective
  • Ability to apply common sense and logic in the resolution of problems
  • Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes to complete assigned tasks
  • Ability to communicate with others ensuring the comprehension of the other party
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, reports, other documentation to meet position objectives, i.e., blueprints, bill of materials, routers, etc.
  • Ability to make adjustment and modifications to G and M code to complete job order (we will train)
  • Ability to determine the tools and accessories needed to complete job order
  • Knowledge of material differences and ability to apply when completing job order
  • Knowledge of various manual and CNC machines and ability to operate all efficiently with minimal downtime
  • Knowledge of and ability to use standard measurement equipment to complete essential functions
  • Ability to apply intermediate math skill and knowledge of metric and standard conversions
  • Ability to operate with competing demands ensuring customer satisfaction (internal and external)
  • Knowledge of and ability to use established technology including hardware and software (computers, tablets, ERP/MRP software, MS Office products)
  • Ability to provide and accept feedback from peers and management in a professional manner


Educational Requirementsย 

  • Ability to pass Phoenix Mecano's knowledge assessments
  • Understanding of high school level reading, writing, and basic math


Physical Requirements

  • Routinely required to use a hands, fingers, and arms in repetitive motions
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend throughout a work shift.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds | Occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Consistently required to use hand or light power tools | Occasionally required to use X-Acto knives or razor blades.
  • Regularly required to move (push and pull) racks and pallets of product around production floor (up to 100 feet at a time)
  • Regularly and consistently required to use or be exposed to adhesives, lubricants, solvents, cleansers, etc.
  • Common PPE is safety shoes and glasses. Other PPE includes full face shield, hearing protection, protective coats, gloves, and dust mask
  • Skin may be exposed to dust and chips from plastic, aluminum, and fiberglass.ย
