Met-Con, Inc., a rapidly growing structural steel fabrication and erection company, is seeking a full-time Machine Operator for our Cocoa, Florida location. Job Description:
The CNC Machine Operator has experience with one or more of the following: Kinetic Plasma table, Peddinghaus Saw/Drill line, Peddinghaus Angle Master, Ficep Beamline. This position also requires experience with overhead cranes, detailed part marking, and manual lifting of 50lbs regularly.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Select correct machine settings for optimal operations
  • Measure materials to assure conformance with design specifications
  • Select correct material type, stock size and dimensions
  • Transfer appropriate data onto materials
  • Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Keep an accurate record of daily operations and material usage
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and assist in trouble shooting any machine issues

REQUIREMENTS
  • Experienced operating CNC plasma table or experience with sawing/drilling/cutting operations is required
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, symbols and notes is preferred
  • Must be able to read a tape measure to within 1/16"
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Ability to stand for a prolonged period
  • Ability to tolerate hot and cold working environments
  • Ability to safely operator overhead cranes and the material transfer/convey system
  • Tekla PowerFab experience preferred
