Certified Nursing Assistant / Surgical Technologist (CNA/Scrub Tech)
Location: Bloomington Eye Institute
Schedule: 4 Days/Week (10-hour shifts) - Possibility of additional days as needed
Are you looking to join a dedicated, friendly team in a fast-paced outpatient surgical setting? We're hiring a CNA/Scrub Tech to support our ophthalmology surgery center and help deliver exceptional patient care.
Position Summary
The CNA/Scrub Tech plays a vital role in supporting our surgical team by providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing outpatient eye procedures. This position involves collaboration with physicians, RNs, CRNAs, administrative staff, and other team members to ensure smooth, efficient surgical care from pre-op through post-op. Success in this role requires flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surgical suites, including supply setup and instrument readiness
  • Assist with patient preparation and/or discharge (vitals, gowning, comfort care)
  • Support intraoperative care under RN and physician supervision
  • Assist surgeons during surgical procedures
  • Turn over and clean ORs; clean and sterilize instruments
  • Provide postoperative support and monitor patient needs
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and special projects
  • Help train and orient new staff; validate competencies

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CNA certification or Surgical Technologist certification (preferred)
  • CPR certification (preferred)
  • Experience in ophthalmology, surgery, or an ASC setting (preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform essential physical tasks
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
