We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Laboratory Support Technician (internally known as Lab Coordination Associate I), to support our fast-paced bioanalytical laboratories. This entry-level position in our Laboratory Coordination Group (LCG) is critical to maintaining compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and ensuring our teams have the clean, organized, and well-stocked environment they need to develop life-saving therapies. This incumbent will be responsible for a wide range of essential support duties, from proper waste disposal and safety inspections to inventory management and lab maintenance.


This is an entry-level, non-research support role; candidates seeking laboratory research or scientific analysis positions may find this role not aligned with their career goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, with scientific coursework or equivalent experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment


The Job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Waste Management & Compliance:
    • Safely handle, segregate, inventory, and dispose of the following laboratory waste in compliance with all applicable safety, health, and environmental procedures. This includes biohazardous waste, chemical waste (e.g., solvents, reagents), mixed waste, and solid waste (glass, paper, recyclables, etc.)
  • Inventory & Supplies:
    • Receive, accurately label, and distribute laboratory consumable supplies
    • Monitor inventory and ensure that laboratory areas remain fully stocked with consumables, reagents, solvents, labels, PPE, and first aid supplies
  • Labware & Equipment Maintenance:
    • Wash laboratory glassware and distribute clean labware across multiple labs
    • Assist LCG personnel with cleaning laboratory equipment as needed
  • Facility & Area Maintenance:
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in communal lab areas and the central supply room
  • Safety Support:
    • Perform and document routine inspections of safety equipment, first aid kits, chemical desiccators, and expiration dates of stored solutions
    • Ensure proper upkeep of the lab coat and visitor personal protective equipment areas
    • Follow all site safety protocols and report any safety concerns immediately
  • Physical Demands:
    • Frequently lift and move items up to 25 pounds
    • Occasionally lift and move items up to 55 pounds


Work Location

  • This job will be 100% QPS-office/facility based and includes laboratories located in two adjacent buildings, within walking distance.
