Job description

Description
Position at WebMD
Medscape, a division of WebMD, develops and hosts physician portals and related mobile applications that make it easier for physicians and healthcare professionals to access clinical reference sources, stay abreast of the latest clinical information, learn about new treatment options, earn continuing medical education credits and communicate with peers.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
Product Manager- Membership
Medscape/WebMD is seeking an energetic, data-driven Product Manager to lead membership, audience development, and identity initiatives across our physician and healthcare professional portals and mobile apps. This role will partner closely with Editorial, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Design, QA, and BI to grow active users, strengthen member profiles, reduce registration friction, and improve authentication/identity resolution - while applying modern analytics and AI capabilities to deliver personalized, efficient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategy and roadmap for membership and audience products, including registration,
login/identity, profile enrichment, and retention.
- Drive initiatives to grow active monthly users, increase session frequency, and reduce anonymous
access through intelligent recognition and authentication.
- Own requirements, user stories, wireframes, prototypes, and acceptance criteria; act as Product
Owner in agile development.
- Partner with engineering and design to deliver robust web and mobile experiences that improve
member activation and lifetime value.
- Collaborate with Editorial and Marketing on push/pull marketing programs (email, app notifications,
alerts) to drive engagement.
- Define, instrument, and monitor KPIs; use data to prioritize and justify product decisions.
- Use analytics and BI tools to perform cohort, funnel, and retention analyses; build and maintain
dashboards for stakeholders.
- Leverage AI/ML capabilities to improve personalization, identity resolution, content recommendations,
fraud detection, and member verification processes.
- Support commercial and sales-led custom requirements as needed.
- Provide consultative product expertise for internal stakeholders and external partners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Technology Management, or a closely related technical or quantitative field
- Demonstrated product management experience for consumer or professional digital products (web
and mobile).
- Strong analytics and data analysis skills: comfortable with SQL, experimentation frameworks, BI tools
(Looker, Tableau, Power BI or similar), and interpreting large datasets.
- Practical experience defining and tracking product KPIs and running hypothesis-driven experiments.
- Basic applied AI/ML experience: familiarity with model types (recommendation, classification, ranking),
working with data science teams, and applying models to personalization, identity matching, or
verification.
- Proven ability to write clear product requirements, user stories, and wireframes; able to visualize UX
and collaborate with designers.
- Excellent communication skills across business and technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical marketing, medical information, or agency environments.
- Experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), identity resolution platforms, and marketing
automation.
- Hands-on familiarity with modern AI tooling (LLMs, embeddings, feature stores) or leading integration
of AI-driven features.)
- Experience with ad-driven and commercial web experiences.
- Prior experience working on global products and validating professional credentials (e.g., physician
verification).
Salary range: $105,000.00 - $110,000.00
Bonus Eligible:
This position is also eligible for a discretionary company bonus, based upon business results.
Benefits:
Employees in this position are eligible to participate in the company sponsored benefit programs, including the following within the first 12 months of employment:
  • Health Insurance (medical, dental, and vision coverage)
  • Paid Time Off (including vacation, sick leave, and flexible holiday days)
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching
  • Life and Disability Insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Commuter and/or Transit Benefits (if applicable)

Eligibility for specific benefits may vary based on job classification, schedule (e.g., full-time vs. part-time), work location and length of employment.
