Job description

The Geophysical Data Technician plays a crucial support role within small field teams, assisting senior scientists during geophysical surveys. This position primarily supports projects in oil and gas exploration, environmental surveys, mineral exploration, and geothermal exploration. The role involves frequent travel to remote sites, strong outdoor and hiking skills and requires adaptability to on-demand travel while maintaining strict safety and data quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate gravity meters and other field equipment accurately
  • Collect, log, and process geophysical data during field surveys
  • Maintain and troubleshoot field equipment to ensure operational readiness
  • Support small teams in remote field locations, ensuring safety compliance
  • Assist in data processing and reporting under guidance of senior staff
  • Adhere to field safety protocols and procedures at all times
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors in the field
