Your Impact:

We are looking for a Civil or Water Resources Engineering recent graduate to join our Land Development team in our Bradford office.

In this role you’ll gain technical experience in a wide range of projects, while working alongside experienced leaders in grading, servicing, and stormwater and floodplain management.

How you will contribute to the team:

  • Prepare civil servicing and grading designs, modelling and studies for a wide variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects.
  • Participate in various project teams to identify issues, modify designs to satisfy approval requirements, assisting our clients in advancing projects toward completion.
  • Obtain materials, gather data/info from various sources to prepare reports and resolve issues.
  • Prepare hydraulic models in InfoWorks and SewerGEMS to analyze sanitary and storm capacity in existing and proposed sewer systems, as well as completing associated write ups.
  • Complete hydraulic water modeling in InfoWater and WaterCAD to analyze existing and proposed water systems, as well as completing associated write ups.
  • Contribute to the preparation of hydrologic & hydraulic water resources modelling, detailed design, and related studies to support a wide variety of land development projects. Examples of this work include natural channel design/realignments, floodplain & stormwater management, and Low Impact Development (LID).
  • Develop overall knowledge of municipal engineering standards and reviewing agencies requirements (i.e. LSRCA, NVCA, MECP), and ongoing liaison with same.
  • Draft, edit, and finalize technical reports and design briefs to summarize analyses, including document production and circulation.
  • Prepare for and attend meetings to support the Engineers.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience, preferably in an engineering consulting environment considered an asset.
  • Experience in preparation and analysis of hydrologic and hydraulic computer modelling.
  • Working experience with hydraulic (HEC-RAS, InfoWorks, SewerGEMS, WaterCAD, WaterGEMS) and hydrologic (VO, SWMHYMO, PCSWMM) modelling software as well as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Experience using AutoCAD or Civil3D would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of municipal land development principles and requirements within the Province of Ontario.
  • Strong communication and technical report writing skills, alongside the ability to prioritize multiple project timelines.
  • Excellent time management skills, project coordination, with the ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously.

Salary range: $68,000 - $80,000
