Project Coordinator – Water & Sewer

Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 annually or $30.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience) Firma Contracting is currently seeking a detail-oriented Project Coordinator with a Water & Sewer or Heavy Civil Construction background to support underground infrastructure projects in the Edmonton area. The successful candidate will assist with project coordination, procurement, documentation, cost tracking, and communication to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination of water, sewer, and heavy civil construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and project supplies while coordinating with vendors and suppliers.
  • Track project progress, schedules, and key milestones.
  • Maintain quality control documentation and ensure project records are accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with project cost tracking, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and closeout documents.
  • Support field supervisors and project managers with daily project coordination.
  • Promote and follow company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of Project Coordination experience in Water & Sewer or Heavy Civil Construction.
  • Experience supporting underground utility or municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with material procurement and supplier coordination.
  • Experience tracking project schedules, costs, and project performance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Experience working on municipal infrastructure projects is considered an asset.
  • Experience with project management or construction management software is considered an asset.
