Company is looking to hire a junior electrical estimator

1. Electrical Estimating Software Proficiency — Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn industry tools like McCormick, Accubid, or Bluebeam for takeoffs and bid preparation. Comfort with digital drawing review and markup is a must.

2. Blueprint Reading and Quantity Takeoff — Ability to interpret electrical construction drawings and specifications to accurately identify scope, materials, and labor requirements. This is the core technical skill the role is built around.

3. Analytical and Detail-Oriented Thinking — Strong attention to detail combined with basic math and analytical skills to support accurate cost estimation. A candidate in electrical engineering or project management gives them the foundation to understand what they're pricing, not just how to price it.
