Job description

Lowboy Driver (Construction Equipment)
Barber Brothers Contracting Co., LLC, has an immediate opening for qualified Lowboy Driver. The position is great career opportunity for a Class A CDL driver looking for a full-time position with an established company in the heavy highway industry.
The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, and have experience safely delivering various types of a heavy equipment. The candidate should also be familiar enough with heavy equipment to be able to safely load and unload. The nature of this position is local construction and will not typically require overnight travel.
The main duty of the position is to be responsible for driving a lowboy to move the heavy equipment used in building, repairing and paving roads. The position requires consistent incorporation of the company’s safety initiatives into daily tasks.
Duties include:
  • Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines.
  • Use basic equipment operating skills necessary to load and unload equipment or materials
  • Check fluid levels, tires, lights, and other controls for safe operation.
  • Keeps accurate log of deliveries and completes required paperwork for billing.
  • Operate lowboy trailer on sites including off of public highways
  • Ability to complete equipment inspections and log books per DOT regulations
  • Know current federal and state cargo securement laws
Qualifications:
  • Heavy Equipment Experience Necessary.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Must possess and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License Class A (CDL A)
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.
