Are you a CCAT = Certified Companion Animal Therapist, CCRP = Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner, CCRVN = Certified Rehabilitation Veterinary Nurse, CVMRT = Certified in Veterinary Massage and Rehabilitation Therapy, or a VTS (Physical Rehab) = Licensed Veterinary Technician with the specialty area of Physical Rehabilitation? If so, Animal Medical Center has an opportunity for you!
This is not an entry level position. Applicants MUST have the above qualifications to be considered for this position.
What to expect:
Quality Medicine: Animal Medical Center is a state-of-the -art hospital with all the bells and whistles. Our goal is to practice the GOLD STANDARD of medicine, performing advanced techniques, and be the leaders in providing excellence in pet healthcare and exceeding client expectations. Animal Medical Center offers advanced diagnostics such as CT scan and other equipment.
Animal Medical Center has a dedicated physical rehabilitation space with client consult area.
WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?
  • Proficiency using the underwater treadmill and therapy laser
  • Utilization of therapeutic exercises to improve proprioception, balance, speed, endurance, focal strength, pelvic limb function, forelimb function, neurologic function.
  • Proper used of therapeutic exercise equipment such as physioballs, cavaletti rails, balance blocks and discs, weights, tunnels, rocker boards and wobble boards
  • Proficient using manual techniques such as massage, ROM exercises, and stretching techniques
  • Utilizes physical modalities as tools to alleviate pain, improve strength, aid in tissue healing and more
  • Ensure that proper documentation (recordkeeping) is performed in a timely and detailed fashion
  • Client communication: communicates clear and concisely, providing home care instructions for client reference

WHAT OTHER THINGS DO I NEED TO KNOW?
  • Must be able to collaborate as a team with Animal Medical Center veterinarians and other team members
  • Applicant must be a team player who demonstrates a caring and compassionate commitment to their patient, client and the team
  • The work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
