Our Power Services team in Houston has an immediate need for Entry Level CADD Technician. In this role Under the supervision of a Professional Electrical Engineer, you will perform project related work in the utilities industry designing and planning power distribution facilities.
What you will do:
- Gather information from various record drawings, GIS maps, Google Earth and other sources
- Investigate project needs and provide solutions to complete the assigned projectÂ
- Determine Right-of-Way requirements for project design
- Conduct project site visits to take photos, verify utility locations, take field measurements, verify power pole equipment
- Compare survey file provided, with photos and research data to determine if it is up to date and an accurate representation of existing conditions
- Use available standards to create base files and necessary subsequent files
- Use all available data from research to determine possible design conflicts
- Assist in designing underground electric projects using MicroStation softwareÂ
- Assist in preparing typical support drawings using available standards and proceduresÂ
- Address review comments from senior staff, client and other reviewers
- Prepare schematic plans or sketches using available standards and proceduresÂ
- Catalog final signed and sealed drawings
- Conduct peer to peer reviews
